Tail-GREAT is an annual tailgate party that brings all of these great things together. Last year’s Tail-GREAT saw over 500 attendees come together to raise $5,000 for local charities. Tail-GREAT is organized by Side Project Inc., a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit corporation ( 100% of the profits from the event are donated to local charities and your donation may be tax-deductible (be sure to check with your accountant or lawyer).


Erie, Pennsylvania is home to many of the members of the Side Project team, and it holds a special place in the heart of all of them. In its first incarnation outside of Pittsburgh, Tail-GREAT Erie will be taking place August 9th, 2014, at the Neighborhood Arts Center parking lot. All of the proceeds from this year’s Tail-GREAT will be donated to local Erie, Pennsylvania charities.

The Tail-Great is a FAMILY Event. Each year there are members of the Police Department enjoying the festivities and ensuring it stays a FAMILY Event. Do not be the first person to get asked to leave a Tail-Great.

MECA Inc's Adaptive Baseball Program

The Adaptive Baseball Program began in Erie, Pa in the summer of 1993. MECA’s goals and objectives were simply to enable children with special health care needs to be able to participate in a sport and to promote sportsmanship, friendship, and team spirit.

The Neighborhood Art House

The Neighborhood Art House provides classes in the visual, performing and literary arts to at risk children in Erie. This program, offered in a safe, nourishing and caring environment, is at no cost to the children who attend classes.


Emmaus Ministries' Kid's Cafe

The Kid's Cafe is a soup kitchen for at-risk children in Erie, Pa. Most nights, the program provides a nutritious meal to over 50 inner-city children. Since opening in 2000 they have provided over 140,000 meals to over 1,200 children.
